Great piece. I'm a true believer that children model what they see in their home. If they see their parents others focused and giving, they will develop a sense of giving also. As a mother and stepmother, I want to raise children who think about others and give. I don't like the sense of entitlement that our society seems to preach. I get my kids involved in giving back. We donate, do operation shoebox at Christmas and when they earn money, we have taught them to save 1/3, they can spend 1/3 (or save it), they need to give 1/3 away. Often the kids choose to give it to missions trips at our church or to buy our sponsor child a small gift (through World Vision). Teaching our kids to pay it forward is one of the greatest gifts we can ever give them! Thanks again for sharing!
