I started both my children in Kindermusik classes when they were infants and now my oldest (who just turned seven) is taking private piano lessons. He has his first recital this Saturday. I invited his godparents and the choir director at church (where my son sings in the children's choir) to come out to lunch and to see the recital. My son is so proud and excited! I can't wait. I have started working on a post up to promote SOS. What a great idea. =) Ever since I have read this I have really noticed how much I NEED music, and so does my daughter. It can change her mood, my mood, and make a stressful situation not so bad. I sent out two iTunes gift cards to my readers. We got a new book to read, about a little boy who is learning to play the piano...it has made Van get out her little piano and play for hours. I brought all my dress-up clothes and instruments and then streamers to decorate. Everyone dressed up, chose an instrument and away we walked down the street. Most participants were 3 or younger so it was a short walk, but everyone had so much fun! Of course for the perfect ending we had popcicles! Yum! I've just signed my son up for Piano. My neighbor is a fantastic teacher and my son, who's 6, could not be more excited to learn. I decided I needed to put him in now, while he had an excitement and desire to learn, keeping it positive. And the best part, he's the one remembering to practice. We'll see how long that lasts, but I'm so happy he's loving it right now. Yay! I’ve just signed my son up for Piano. So I will definitely be using some ideas from this site. I really don't know what to give Dad for a gift this Fathers Day, Not sure what I am going to do this year, maybe my sisters and I can club together and buy him a track day which I know he will love! At least I have the card already sorted so that’s one less thing to worry about. This year I am going to be sending Dad an eCard rather than a paper card. He loves his computer, so I am sure that he will appreciate it.
