Check Out the Trends for Children’s Summer Clothing This Season!

#gno information!

cutest-girl-dress I happen to be in the know about something. I’m not often in the loop and was tickled to have an insider’s view into what the upcoming trends are in kids fashion for summer after putting together some creative writing for a major upcoming children’s fashion show. So, of course, I feel it’s my utmost duty to pass on this little tidbit of information, not only because I want you to have fun sewing for your kids, but also it just so happens that youcanmakethis.com has many patterns that fit what’s hot this season!

Many of the designers I interviewed as part of the kids fashion show project are mixing bright, bold colors this summer. Color is the ticket, from bright pinks and greens, to bold patterns and everything in between. This colorful pallet, however, is being created into classic pieces.

Classic is good because it means a single piece can usually be worn many different ways. Still in style this summer are summer style and A-line style dresses, peasant style tops and yes, the ruffle pant! Also, something new and unique is the ruffle Bermuda-type short. Similar to a ruffle pant or Capri, this shorter version offered two layers of ruffles right above the knee. Along those lines, city shorts and gauchos paired with a peasant top and button down vest was featured as a modern twist for girls. Keeping in line with simple style, fabric headbands are making a big splash in pretty patterns, which offer a really easy way to liven up any outfit.

City chic and bohemian styles seem very prominent this year as well, so if you plan on sewing a few pieces and want to stay in style, try out a favorite wide leg pant and a few peasant tops in brighter colors…have fun by mixing pretty prints and solids. No matter what, remember to try something new and have fun!
