First Alert Giveaway: Win 3 Smoke Alarms (10 Winners)
How often do you check the smoke alarms in your house? Batteries are the power source behind a vast majority of today’s smoke and CO alarms and can mean the difference between life and death in an emergency situation.
October is Fire Prevention Month and First Alert is encouraging families to "Power Up!" their smoke and CO alarms by testing and, if needed, replacing their devices' batteries — or the devices themselves — to ensure they remain in proper working order. Many people who have non-working smoke alarms don’t know it because they haven’t tested their alarms. First Alert encourages everyone to test their alarms at least once a month. There’s a test button on all alarms, and it only takes a few seconds.
Did you know that smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years? If you don’t remember the date of installation, replace. Replacement is always based on how long the alarms have been in operation, not when they were manufactured. Be sure to check your smoke alarms today. Also, don’t forget to mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 16 and join us as we chat with First Alert about fire safety and prevention in celebration of Fire Prevention Month! Please visit the RSVP post for more information.
This week's giveaway is all about fire safety and prevention. As part of this giveaway, 10 winners will receive three SA710CN smoke alarms (ARV: $19.99). There will also be an in-chat giveaway during the Twitter party. The winner of the in-chat giveaway will receive three smoke alarms ($50).
