Holidays: How To Make Last Minute Valentine’s Day Cards

craftsholidays

Are you in need in of a last minute Valentine's Day card or display? I always love making handmade cards. This year I thought I would try out the new Martha Stewart paints and stencils from Plaid and loved the result. I was originally planning on just making cards, but thought these looked cute in a frame as well. These are so simple to make.

How To Make Last-Minute Valentines

Supplies:

  • White cardstock paper (5x4in)
  • Red textured cardstock paper
  • Paint and brush
  • Stencil, stickers, or stamps
  • Mod podge glue
  • Glitter
  • Trim (optional)

Directions:

The first thing I did was punch out a heart from the textured card stock. Then I mod podged the heart onto the middle of the paper. After that I placed my stencil and lightly brushed on the paint. These stencils worked great!

The "I love you" was cute and simple, but I wanted to dress up the edges a little. The first thing I did was add a thin layer of glue around the edge of the card. Then I sprinkled glitter on top and shook it off after a few seconds. Once the glue dried I added some trim (found at Hobby Lobby) with hot glue around the edges.

That's it! This project is super simple and beats the typical store bought card! Use these as cards or stick glue them on a piece of scrapbook paper and display in a funky frame.

Do you make handmade Valentine's Day cards or buy them? What has been your favorite card of all time?
