How to “De-Stale” Your Relationship, From @PattiStanger

I don't know if you're like me, but there are some products that I always buy. Buying them has worked well for me in the past, so to save time and thinking power, I continue down the same path. A couple of products I can't live without are Fiber One Caramel Delight cereal and Welch's Fruit Snacks. But I have to admit that, even though I love them, sometimes I get tired of eating them. Can you relate?

Patti Stanger, the Millionaire Matchmaker, says that, in a similar fashion, even the best relationships can get a little stale. She suggests making little switches to freshen things up. Sometimes that can make all the difference. Here are some suggestions:

Little Switches to Spice up Your Relationship

  1. Surprise your partner
  2. Get Active
  3. Get Out
  4. Upgrade
  5. Refresh your space

General Relationship Tips

  1. Compliment your mate.
  2. If you're having an important discussion with your partner, don't be worried or off-put by silent moments during the conversation.
  3. Travel together.
  4. Pamper your partner.
  5. Leave a love note.
  6. Take a class together.
  7. If you are in an argument, try repeating what the other says and building off of it.
  8. Plan a night out.
  9. Play games.
  10. Go on a “blind date”

What little switches have you made in your relationship that have made all the difference? For me, recognizing that my husband was an introvert and needed time to refuel and decompress was huge. Initially, I'd want to always be out with large groups of friends or have lots of people over. As I made the switch to more balance—small and large groups as well as more time just for the two of us—I found that we drew closer as a couple from the one-on-one time, I still got my energy boost from being with lots of people here and there, and he got to refuel from having some down time.
