On July 17th 1955, Walt Disney opened Disneyland. Happy 59th Anniversary Disneyland Resort! Next year, Disney will celebrate their 60th year in operation. Can you believe that Disneyland will be 60 years? Amazing! In an effort to celebrate this diamond anniversary, Disneyland has a few magical surprises up their sleeves.

“It’s an incredible time at the Disneyland Resort as we prepare for next year’s Diamond Celebration,” said Michael Colglazier, president, Disneyland Resort. “We’re excited to honor our rich history, to celebrate the incredible magic that fills our resort today, and to create unforgettable memories with our guests for many years to come.”
Let celebrate this amazing accomplishment. Are you ready?

Disney invited the generations of families and friends who have visited the resort to share their favorite memories through photos taken at the Disneyland Resort. One lucky guest will have a chance to win a trip to the Disneyland Resort for the start of the 60th anniversary celebration in Spring 2015.  Here is how it works:

  • Each week, through August 27, 2014, Disneyland will be asking for your special photo memories from a specific decade.
  • Of course, you’re welcome to share a photo from any time in the 60-year history of the Disneyland Resort, from now through August 27, 2014, outside of the weekly, decade-focused inspiration prompts.
  • To enter, just post your photos on Twitter or Instagram, using the hashtag #Disneyland60Contest by August 27, 2014.
  • Indicate the decade in which the photo was taken in the description or tweet.
  • For complete rules, go to DisneyParksBlog.com.
