DIY Best Friends Necklace – for Multiple Besties
crafts • kids crafts • free printables
The bond between two girlfriends, or a group of girlfriends, is something special. Every girl should celebrate her band of besties - and what better way than with a best friends necklace she can make herself - and split into as many pieces are needed. If you wanted to make these as anklets you could easily adapt this DIY Anklet Tutorial by swapping these medallions with the sea stars.
No need to pick a single friend to be her best friend!
Supplies To Make Your Own "Besties" Necklace Charms
- Jewelry Chain or Necklace Cord (both shown here)
- Jump Rings
- Hole Punch
- Scissors
- Shrink Plastic
- Paint Brush
- Mod Podge
- Markers or Colored Pencils
- 2 pairs of pliers
How to Make Your Own Best Friends Necklaces
Start by printing out the Free Besties Printable onto the shrink plastic. Using an inkjet printer, you can print directly onto the rough side of the plastic. Cut out your shapes.
Color in the medallion. You can have fun using different colors in the S which doubles as an 8 - the symbol for infinity.
Cut the Besties medallion into as many pieces as you'll need.
Punch a hole in the corner of each piece. (Be sure you do this before shrinking it down.)
Shrink in the oven following the directions on the shrink plastic.
Once the pieces have cooled, add a coat of Mod Podge to the rough side of each piece. Allow to dry.
Use a jump ring to attach each piece to the necklace chain, or necklace cord.
Pass out the pieces to your group of besties - be sure to keep one for yourself!
Did you celebrate best friends growing up? Who would you make these for?
