Family Fun: A Day on the Farm
For animal lovers going to a farm can be a lot of fun. Our family loves to spend time together and we all love animals, so when we heard about the Family Day on the Farm event, we didn't want to miss it. The event was sponsored by the Dairy Council of Utah/Nevada. We felt like visiting a farm was a great way to educate our kids about where our food comes from. There was food, games, music, farm tours, and our favorite part, the petting zoo. We had so much fun!
My kids could not get enough of these cute animals. The farm had goats, rabbits, ducks, pigs, chickens, sheep, and so much more. The kids literally spent over an hour in the petting area. While we were at the farm we learned about the daily life of a dairy farmer. We toured the milking parlor and got up close and personal with some of the cows.
If you aren't able to visit a farm or zoo anytime soon, no need to worry. Your kids can still have fun with this free Zoo Bingo printable. What are some of your favorite animals? After this weekend, I am a little partial to Geraldine the 6-foot tall cow. That isn't to say we still don't like visiting our favorite animals at our local zoo, because of course we do!
