Easy DIY Snowman Ornaments
What is it about snowmen?? They are just the cutest little things ever, and I feel like everyone loves them. They're great not only for Christmas, but all throughout the winter. So I decided to share with you some easy DIY snowman ornaments that even kids could make.
These seriously take about a minute to make. Maybe 2-3 minutes if you decide to add a hat.
And they are crazy cute. Hang them on your tree for some extra little snowman love, or make a bunch and pile them into a bowl. Because they're handmade, each one is slightly different and has its own little personality.
Supplies to Make DIY Snowman Ornaments
- White ball ornaments (I got mine at Walmart)
- Black, orange and pink Sharpies
- Scrap pieces of felt and ribbon; hot glue (optional; if you'd like to give them hats)
Start with some plain white ball ornaments. I got these ones at Walmart.
To give them some rosy cheeks, crumple up a paper towel and color on a small circle with your pink Sharpie. Take the paper towel and stamp some color onto the ornament. Experiment with just dabbing or rubbing it in a circle until you're happy with the color.
Then, take your black Sharpie and draw on a cute little face!
If you want to make a hat, cut this shape out of a scrap piece of fleece. I realize that "this shape" is not super-helpful, but just look at the picture. If you have a name for it, feel free to school me. I started by measuring out a rectangle that was long enough to wrap around the top of the ornament, and then cut slits in the top. Then, to cut down on bulk, I trimmed a triangle off each end. Voila! "This shape"!
Using hot glue, secure the two end points together and then glue the hat to the top of the ornament.
Tie a piece of ribbon at the base of the slits you cut, and your snowman has a cute little hat!
I can't decide which one is my favorite, but I think I want to make a ton more!
Which do you think is cuter: hat or no hat?
