Here are a few simple tricks:
- Teach your kids the difference between “needs” and “wants”
- Regulate allowances by giving them money in response to completing a task such as cleaning the baseboards or mowing the lawn
- Encourage your teens to work part-time as it will prepare them for adult life
- Teach them the ins and outs of online banking, the importance of savings/checking accounts, and how to track their spending habits
