Neutral Thanksgiving Table Decor

Turn your Halloween table into a beautiful Thanksgiving centerpiece. Ok, how is it possible that it's time to be thinking about Thanksgiving?!? I feel like it was just New Year's! It's bananas, I tell you.
Most of the time at Thanksgiving, people tend to do fall colors of reds, oranges, yellows, browns and greens. While this can be gorgeous, and is obviously appropriate for the season, I wanted to do something a little different this year with my Thanksgiving table and try out a totally neutral palette with white pumpkins, burlap, jute and other natural elements.
And I absolutely love how it turned out.
I started with a burlap table runner. To make it, I just cut a length of burlap that was about 12" wide and long enough to fit my table. Easy enough, right?
The centerpiece of the table is a white pumpkin, placed in an off-white footed bowl filled with Spanish moss. On it, I hung a small slate chalkboard {found at Michael's} on which I wrote "Be Thankful". {Just so you know, I am nowhere near artistic enough to freehand those letters. I used the same transfer technique that I used on my Peace on Earth Globe and my Football Sign, but I used chalk instead of pencil.}
Then I just started working outward from there.
I used a bunch of mini white pumpkins.
These adorable little acorns are also from Michaels, but they'd be a super easy DIY.
The little balls scattered around are a mix of ones I made myself and ones I got at Michael's.
Remember my jute-wrapped pumpkins? They made an appearance as well!
Finally, for a tiny bit of color, I popped some faux flowers (although for Thanksgiving Day, I'll get real ones!) into a cool willow-wrapped vase, also from Michael's. They get a lot of business from me, in case you couldn't tell. A few of the women who work there now greet Mason by name when we walk in.
Like I said, I love this tablescape. It's easy to do and was pretty inexpensive.
When you're planning out your Thanksgiving table this year, start by thinking of an overall theme or color palette. Once you have that, hit up sites like Pinterest, Houzz, or Wayfair or head over to HomeGoods, Pottery Barn, Pier 1, or other stores near you to get inspired. Then, start your shopping in your own home. What do you have that could be used or repurposed to fit your vision? Once you have a good base, then head out to go shopping for a few last pieces. You can easily create a gorgeous, perfect tablescape without having to spend a ton of money!
