about team momIF
We are a fun-loving group of professionals dedicated to enhancing the lives of women, their families, and the communities in which they live. We love working with people, whether they are bloggers or brands, to help connect, network, and gain exposure.
Do you want to get to know us a bit more? Below is a little more information about our lives and the things we love most (besides our jobs, of course).
Founder and CEO of Mom It Forward and Family Forward
Jyl is the Founder and CEO of Mom It Forward. She is a cheese lover, avid traveler (she has been to all 50 states and 37 countries), road tripper, piano player, and dancing queen.
An award-winning writer, she has 10 years of experience in corporate training, advertising (copywriting), and news writing. She is also the co-founder of the evo Conference and the founder of Family Forward.
She has spent half her life in Arizona and half her life in Utah with a few years spread out among Argentina, Ecuador, Texas, and Germany. She currently lives in the Rocky Mountains.
Jyl, who is your favorite super hero? "Spiderman because I love how he had to learn to grow into his super powers, as well as learned to use them for good in the world."
Editorial and Sales Manager
Jill Greenlaw is Mom It Forward's Editorial and Sales Manager. She is a sports enthusiast, nature lover, expert camper, bungee jumper, motocycler, scuba diver, and mountain biker. She also plays the violin, piano, guitar, and Christmas bells.
In her previous life, she worked in the banking industry and has experience in sales, portfolio management, and corporate trainer. She also has experience in community management and social media.
She grew up in Boise, Idaho (she didn't see a potato farm until she was 30) but now lives in Utah with her husband, four kids, and two dogs.
Jill, who is your favorite super hero? "Wonder Woman because not only does she look great in her outfit, but she can change from average woman to a defender of all that is good with a simple twirl."
Karen Hunter is Mom It Forward's Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Her favorite hobbies include decorating, traveling, mountain biking, and listening to audio books. She also has perfected her tricks on the Rubik's Cube and can solve it in two minutes.
She has been a CPA for 18 years and her past experiences involved working in the tax, government, and financial industries. One of her favorite previous positions was when she worked as the CFO for a Children's Museum.
Originally from Utah, she has also lived in England and Italy. She currently resides in Utah with her family.
Karen, who is your favorite super hero? "Superman because I covet his ability to fly."
Junior Account Manager
Marissa Huntsman is a Junior Account Manager at Mom It Forward. She helps with our #gno Twitter parties, as well as other client services. She loves listening to 80s music, eating frozen yogurt and French toast, watching the SyFy channel, and dying her hair all sorts of different colors.
She will graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Anthropology (can put together a human skeleton) from the University of Utah. She developed a love of cheesecake as a server at The Cheesecake Factory and put herself through school working as an insurance agent.
Born in Provo, Utah, she spent two years at Southern Utah University and lived in Salt Lake City for a year.
Marissa, who is your favorite super hero? "Iron Man because I love the man's sass. Plus, have you seen the cars he drives?!"
Social Media and Community Manager
Lindsey Miller Petersen is the Social Media and Community Manager at Mom It Forward. Her favorite hobbies involve anything fine arts and hands-on related. She also loves fun in any form–namely concerts, festivals, parties, and anything where people are gathered together for a common purpose.
After graduation from Brigham Young University’s fine arts program, she worked in the fine arts industry for five years and then transitioned into the social media industry for JetBlue Airways for four years.
She grew up in Orlando, Florida, moved to Chesapeake, Virginia, and eventually landed in Utah where she met and married a local. She now lives in Utah with her husband, four kids, and one beloved cat named Charlie Salt.
Lindsey, who is your favorite super hero? “Human Torch, of the Fantastic 4. All of my favorite art forms involve fire in the process. I love how while we mostly think of fire as something that destroys, that it's actually something that can create, as well. I love how taking a different perspective on something can help you see the best in it. I also just like warmth in general.”
Troy Pattee is our Marketing Manager and he handles our stats and reporting. He's a nature lover (he learned to scuba dive when he was 15) and enjoys skiing, traveling (he has been to 47 of the 50 states), and being a "major prankster."
Troy is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's and Master's degree. He has over 15 years of experience in marketing and advertising, owning a business, and being an entrepreneur.
Troy was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah but has lived in New York, Belgium, and Holland. He currently lives in Utah with Jyl, their two boys, and their dog named Hashtag.
Troy, who is your favorite super hero? "Aquaman because he can breathe underwater (plus the mermaids totally love him)."
Senior Account Executive and Project Manager
Jen Tilley is a Senior Account Executive and Project Manager for Mom It Forward. When not working, you will most likely find her baking and cooking, clicking the shutter button on her camera, going to sporting events, tasting delicious wine, or spending time on a boat.
As a graduate of Michigan State University (Go Green!), she has years of experience in blogging, branding, content development and management, event management and planning, marketing, program and project management, and public relations.
Previously a Michigander, she is now living the city life in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two rescue dogs.
Jen, who is your favorite super hero? "The Incredible Hulk because he turns big and green, is misunderstood, and...well...he's just awesome."
