I think my best tip is to check their history files once in a while and see what sites they’ve been visiting. My DS11 & his friends love YouTube and that can be a real danger zone.

Love the tip of keeping the computer in an open area..so important and I always check the history and I create a different account login with limited Internet usage

I liked the explanation on privacy policies as they relate to children, very informative. I would love to win this and donate it for the upcoming fundraising auction at my sons school.

I have never heard of the Internet Privacy Policies. Open communication and teaching “what to do” are such good recommendations that we try for in our home.

2.Teach children the obvious identity rules.
That’s not enough! I taught my kids, and then found them breaking the rules without even realizing they were doing it. I think that young kids are too easily fooled into breaking them. It’s really important to make sure your child is old enough for the forum that they are engaged in – don’t put them in a situation where you have to rely on them remembering the rules!
