PBS KIDS: Tuesday #gno Twitter Party on Back-To-School Reading
Do your kids love to read? What are their favorite books? As you probably already know, PBS KIDS is all about encouraging kids to read. For the second year, PBS KIDS and JetBlue have teamed up for Soar with Reading, an award-winning program, designed to excite and inspire kids’ imaginations to take flight through reading.
Unfortunately, too many children don’t have access to resources that enrich learning and encourage reading. Studies show that there is only one book available for every 300 children living in underserved communities in the United States. To help address this critical shortage, PBS KIDS and JetBlue and their partner Barefoot Books, will provide age-appropriate books to children in need.
You can help them open a new world for kids through books by visiting http://www.soarwithreading.com/donate.aspx and sharing the name of your favorite children’s book. For each submission, JetBlue will donate an age-appropriate book to a child in need, through Barefoot Books.
As we approach the school year, it’s important to continue to encourage kids to get excited about reading. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 21 as we chat with PBS KIDS, JetBlue, and Barefoot Books about tips and activities to help with kids soar with reading this school year!
