Make sure you have enough snacks/drinks so that you aren’t spending extra money on the long drives getting you to where you are going.
Pack food so you won’t have to stop to eat.
When the children were little and we traveled , we always took many breaks for them to run and play . The vacation was not just at the end of the line and at our destination but along the way.
I would love to rent a condo along a beautiful beach for two weeks. My two kids and I would eat out, enjoy the sights, and relax. It excites me, just to think of having a real vacation.
busy toys for the kids
Nake sure that everyone gets a chance to do something they like
Check for deals…. see what places offer AAA discounts, Entertainment Book discounts, and restaurant eClub e-mails for food discounts.
I always show my AAA card when visiting Universal/Islands of Adventure in Orlando. I can save 10% of dine in places & merchandise store. AAA discount does not apply to outdoor carts, but all indoor places there. Every bit saved helps. Be aware of discounts through the auto club or if traveling to major city invest in an Entertainment Book.
The best tip I have is to make sure that you bring enough to keep the kids busy, coloring books, crayons, puzzle books and maybe some dvd’s and a portable dvd player
With 2 diabetics in the family …pack acceptable snacks to avoid temptations on the road.
