Stamped T-Shirts for Kids—Practical, Simple, and Fun!
Hello sunshine! These simple and fun stamped t-shirts are the perfect (and practical) summer craft for kids.
Stamped T-Shirts
Materials Needed
- Plain t-shirt—I normally purchase them in assorted sizes and colors on clearance
- Fabric paint—Silver and yellow
- Toast stamp—We picked up a few recently in the $1 section at Target
- Paint brush
- Piece of cardboard, cutting board, or other flat surface to place inside the shirt
Directions
Step 1:
Place a flat board inside the t-shirt so that paint doesn't seep through the front onto the back of the shirt.
Step 2:
Have your child carefully paint over the raised sections of the toast stamp. Make sure the paint is fairly thick and covers all of the raised surface so there are no gaps showing.
Step 3:
Ensure that the t-shirt is completely flat. Turn the stamp over. Press down firmly. There shouldn't be any gaps, but if you do find a couple, touch them up with a brush and little bit of fabric paint.
We added little highlights of silver paint onto the sunshine to make it sparkle in the sunlight, and also placed a bowl over the image and traced around it with silver paint.
Little girls are going to love painting their own shirts. My daughter found another stamp with a heart on it. Guess what we are painting next?
