American Heart Craft
I love the summer months. There are so many fun holidays to celebrate, and so many great craft projects come to my mind. I have wanted to do something with a silhouette of the United States for awhile. I finally came up with the perfect idea, make an American Heart Craft.
I started by creating the silhouette of the United States in my Silhouette die cutting machine. I have seen them done with a heart/star representing where you are from. Home is where the heart is type of thing. My heart is in 2 places. I live in Southern Utah and my heart and family is here. I am from California and still have family there. My heart will always be there.

Directions
- I cut out my United States with silver vinyl.
- Then I needed to prep the wood it was going on. I wanted to give a new spin to the traditional red, white, and blue. So of course I went with aqua for my blue. I actually had a 24x24 piece of MDF laying around so I used that. I taped off the sections. Then painted.
- After the paint dried I had to come up with a quote. I placed my USA cut out and started thinking. I wanted something that I could keep out all year if I chose to. I went with, God Bless this Home. Perfect.
This project took me about an hour to do.
What are your favorite holiday crafts?
My name is Mommy, Mom, Hey, honey and Cheryl. I am the author at Run Mommy Run. Yep I go by all those things.
I love all things Disney. So do my kids. We try to visit Disneyland at least once a year. That is my new goal. I married my Prince Charming (Daddy to the kids, Honey to me, Kevin to everyone else).
I am a work at home mom. I have 5 direct sales companies, 2 vacation rentals and I am the proud owner of {S}nap! Photography. I told you. RUN MOMMY RUN!!! I have run 10 half marathons, 2 10ks and 3 5ks. I have a goal of running a full marathon but every time I start to train I get pregnant. I guess someone else has better plans. My family is first for me. I am so glad that I have such a supportive family. It makes life so much easier.
