Here are some fresh facts about avocados:

Speed up the avocado ripeningprocess by placing unripe avocados in a brown paper bag with an apple or banana for two to three days until they are ripe.
Place the avocado in the refrigerator to slow the ripening process if the avocado begins to yield to gentle pressure.
To pack an avocado for lunch, place the avocado in a plastic zipper-top sandwich bag and close.
Store avocados in the fridge – even while they're still whole – to keep them fresh for up to two weeks.
Store the avocado with the pit and coat it with olive oil or lemon juice prior to storing in an airtight container in the fridge.
