DIY Thomas the Tank Engine Halloween Costumes

What is your preference for Halloween costumes? Store bought or homemade?

A few years back, before my boys got googly eyed over the Halloween costumes they saw in the store, they used to be thrilled when we'd get all gung-ho and go homemade. And let me be clear... by "we," I mean my husband, or @troypattee as I lovingly refer to him.

@troypattee seemed to have gotten all of the artistic talent in our relationship, so it only made sense for him to embark in a little DIY Halloween costume adventure on his own. And because we had two junior engineers in the family, he made not one, but two Thomas the Tank Engine costumes. My role? To parade the boys around proudly, saying thank you in response to everyone's compliments on my hubby's handiwork. What's a wife and mother to do?

Since so many people asked for instructions to make the Thomas the Tank Engine Halloween Costumes, @troypattee put his heart and soul—and humor—into coming up with step-by-step instructions for you complete with clip art and fun paint color names! Click on instruction pics to see them full size and to print them.

What are your kids going to be for Halloween this year?
