Party Planning: 5 Ways to Host a Super Bowl Party
Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner! Before your family and friends crowd around the TV to watch the big game (and commercials, of course), make sure that party and menu planning are part of your game plan. By having all of your decor and recipes in order prior to your guests’ arrival, you can ensure that everyone (including you) has a good time and doesn’t miss a second of the big game.
5 Ways to Host a Super Bowl Party
Whether you’ve hosted Super Bowl parties for years or if this is your first Super Bowl party, these tips are sure to help make your party a success.
1) Setup Festive Decor
You can stop by your local store — craft, dollar, convenience, etc. — and pick up inexpensive decor that will add a bit of flair to your party. You can stick with traditional football colors (greens and browns) or pick your favorite Super Bowl team and decorate your house in the team’s colors. There are also tons of football-themed printables on the Internet. Do a quick search, print them, and place them throughout your home. With team colors, football pennants, and other football paraphernalia, you will create an atmosphere that will be not only fun but also festive.
2) Arrange Seating
The last thing that your guests want to do is squint to watch the game. Regardless of the size of your television, make sure that your guests are comfortable watching the game. Arrange your sofas, couches, and chairs so that everyone will be able to see the game. Also, make sure you have beanbag chairs or extra pillows and blankets so that your guests aren’t sitting on an uncomfortable floor.
3) Serve Finger Foods
When it comes to Super Bowl party food, you want to keep it simple and easy to eat. And why not make it easy on yourself, too? Restaurant-quality fresh-from-the-freezer pizza, like Ristorante by Dr. Oekter, is a great option for something convenient, delicious and easy to serve! With combinations from pepperoni and ham to spinach and mozzarella, there are flavors to please anyone in your game-day crowd. Options like chips, salsa, vegetable trays, and cold cut platters are also sure to be easy to prepare and a big hit during your party.
4) Host Games
When inviting guests to your party, let them know that there will be a spirit competition. When it comes to team spirit, the possibilities are endless — jerseys, face paint, foam fingers, t-shirts, etc. Have everyone vote on the winner and then award the winner with a homemade trophy. You can also have people guess the final score of the game and award the winner a trophy.
5) Prepare for Spills
With drinks and finger foods being served, there are bound to be spills throughout the day. Be sure to place coasters on tables and have spots in your living room where people can place their drinks in order to avoid spills. Having plenty of paper towel on hand will help to minimize stains on your carpet.
