Recipe: Magic Bars with Chocolate and Coconut
When I heard I would be guest posting for Mom It Forward, I knew the timing couldn't have been any better! I was throwing a surprise birthday party for my husband's 30th birthday and I had already planned to makeĀ perfect crowd pleasing dessert. This is a recipe I got from my mom and is sure to be a hit at any gathering. It is an old standby family treat that is sure disappear and leave everyone asking for more! These Magic Bars are simple to make, and sure to be the hot item at any party.
Magic Bars Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/3 cup coconut
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (I used pecans)
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the graham cracker crumbs and butter together and pat into bottom of a 9x11 pan. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the graham cracker layer. Sprinkle the coconut, chocolate chips, and nuts evenly over the milk and graham cracker layers. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until brown.
