Craft: How to Make S’mores Day Roasting Sticks
Craft—It’s National S’mores Day! Celebrate by…eating s’mores! Whether you’re camping or in your backyard or at a campground, you can celebrate the holiday by not only eating tasty treats but by making cute roasting sticks to roast your s'mores! This is an easy, kid-friendly craft that also prevents everyone from fighting over which stick they get to use.
How to Make a S'mores Roasting Stick
Supplies:
- A stick or branch
- Wire
- Paint
- Fabric or ribbon
Directions:
Begin by finding long sticks or branches that are thick and sturdy. I clipped this one from a tree because I like the rugged look. You could also use a wooden stick from the craft store if you want a smoother feel.
Decorate your stick! Let each kid design their stick however they want using paint and stickers. Create a handle with scrap fabric and ribbons and add their name so everyone knows whose is whose.
Using pliers, twist wire around the top of your stick and bend to make prongs.
Tada! So cute, easy, and fun you’ll want to make some more! Bring on the S’mores!
Are s'mores a part of your summer traditions? How do you get the kids involved in the fun?
