Wednesday

What she says

"Honey, I need you to pick a topic and write a blog post while I'm gone."

What I hear

"Blah blah something about picking up some honey at the post office while she goes blogging."

What I think

"We've got plenty of honey in the pantry, and why does the post office have honey? Don't they deliver? Hey, the sun's out! I'd better mow the lawn."

Thursday

What she says

"Remember, I'm going to India on Saturday. Please turn off David Letterman!"

What I hear

"Remember, David Letterman is going to Indiana on Saturday."

What I think

"She thinks I don't know David Letterman is from Indiana? How does she know he's going there? Hey, where's the remote...is that butter on the floor?!"

Friday

What she says

"Please bring up the suitcases so I can begin packing."

What I hear

"Please pack away the suitcases something something."

What I think

"Why would I put away the suitcases? She'll probably just need them again in a few days...look, fumble!"

Saturday

What she says

"Wake up, we're late for the airport! I'll miss my flight to India!"

What I hear

"Wake up!"

What I think

"She's going to India?! I wonder how long she'll be gone. And who will write her blog posts while she's away?"

Sunday

What she says

"I just landed in Delhi! Thanks for being so helpful this week!"

What I hear

"I just landed in Delhi! Thanks for being so helpful this week!"

What I think

"I sure love my wife. I'm lucky to have her. I wonder who's watching the kids?"

What We've Learned

Unlike most men, women can be difficult to understand and interpret. By using a technique called The Three P's—Patience, Practice, and Poker Perseverance—almost any relationship can be successful. Men must remember that women communicate differently than us. For example, when she says "yes," she might really mean "why is the garage so dirty?" If a man will listen closely to his wife or girlfriend (hopefully not both) he will be rewarded with a long-lasting and happy relationship in which both he and his significant other feels understood, fulfilled, and loved.
