Fall Craft: Candy Corn Garland
For the past few weeks, I have been working on decorating our home for fall. The weather is finally starting to cooperate and the cool, crisp air that I have been craving has arrived! With every season or holiday, I try to incorporate new and creative things into our home; it is the perfect excuse to create some fun things. This year, when I started thinking about fall and decorating for the season, candy corn came to mind. We didn't have any candy corn related decorations so I thought I could make some. My first project was candy corn garland.
I asked my husband to cut triangles from some thin wood we had in the garage. They measured about seven inches long and about four inches wide. He also drilled holes in the two top corners of the triangles.
I use painter's tape to separate the three different colors (yellow, orange, and white). I painted the back of each triangle a solid yellow.
After they dried, I sprayed them with polyurethane so they would stand up to the elements outside. I strung them on twine to complete the garland.
These have added so much fun to our fall decorating. I made a second set to have inside the house as well!
How do you like to decorate for fall?
