Halloween Candy – No Limits With Invisalign

parentingages and stages

With Halloween only a few days away, candy and treats are flooding the stores and our homes. When you are receiving orthodontic treatment, there are so many types of candies that you need to avoid all together. I have a daughter that has braces and a son that is wearing invisalign. My daughter is really limited by the types of candy and food she can eat. If she eats anything too sticky or gummy, it can cause real problems with her braces. She has learned over the years that these types of candies and foods are entirely off limits. My son, on the other had, doesn't have as many limitations with Halloween candy. As long as he takes out his aligners, he can enjoy anything he likes. (I am a member of the invisalign Mom Advisory Board. My son is receiving complimentary treatment from Invisalign)

Many kids will go Trick or Treating this Halloween, where they will enticed with candy and food that is bad for their braces and teeth. Although I don't encourage any of my children to eat too much candy, I am grateful that my teenage son who is wearing aligners, will not have to worry about the possibilities of damaging his aligners. I have found his treatment to be so flexible and easy. My daughter, who is wearing braces, just broke another bracket on her tooth, and I have to call to schedule an appointment for her tomorrow. It has been interesting comparing the treatment of my children and finding that one product is so much easier to live with on a daily basis.

If you are any of your children are considering wearing invisalign aligners, I recommend it. The ease of this product is wonderful. If you are interested in finding a doctor in your area that offers Invisalign treatment, go here.

What are you doing to ensure that your children are taking care of their teeth?
