Sea Pirate Campground

travelroad trips & staycations

Camping has and always will be a part of my life. My parents would to take us on a cross country trip every summer, camping the whole way, coast to coast. When I got married I happened to marry a man who enjoys camping as well, and has passed the love of sleeping outdoors on to our four children. I unfortunately feel slightly different from the rest of the family. I am not saying that I don't like to camp, far from it. I am just saying that when I camp I would like it to be as comfortable, and as bug free as possible. While my husband, and my parents before him, prefer to "rough it" in tents or under the stars I am more of a cabin (with electricity, plumbing, cable, air conditioning, and WI-Fi) kind of girl. So when we went to New Jersey this past weekend for The Privateers and Pirate Festival in Tuckerton, NJ I was a little nervous knowing that we would be camping for the weekend.

Sea Pirate Campground

Sea Pirate Campground is located 8 miles from Long Beach Island. It is about half and hour south of Sea Side Heights, and half and hour north of Atlantic City. This family friendly campground has been owned and operated by the same family for over 40 years! As soon as we got there I could feel my nerves just falling away. I really don't know what I was worried about. The Sea Pirate Campground was everything that I needed when camping as well as all of the outdoor stuff that my family needs while camping. We drove up to this adorable little cabin.

Needless to say that with two rooms that sleep 6, a FULL kitchen, bathroom, TV with cable (I have insomnia so I need something to do at night when everyone is asleep), Wi-Fi, and air conditioning I was going to be just fine for the weekend. But since it wasn't just me, I wanted to look around and make sure that everyone would be happy. And I didn't have to go far to find almost anything that the kids might want.

For dinner we ate with a bunch of other bloggers that were at the Sea Pirate Camp for the events in Tuckerton the next day. The girls had a great time eating burgers, and dressing like pirates. They also played with their swag bags thanks to Partypalooza (@PartypaloozaFun). The goody bags were packed with so much good stuff! Pirate goodies, glow in the dark toys, beach balls, sunglasses and so much more!

The girls got to bunk out for the night which they love because they don't have bunk beds at home. And my son got a comfortable futon all to himself (which is how he likes it). They were able to get on their devices and play for a few minutes before bed using the complimentary Wi-Fi that is available all over the campground.

The next day we spent the morning and early afternoon at The Tuckerton Seaport for the Privateer and Pirate Festival. After the festival we headed back to Sea Pirate Campground and the girls went swimming while I sat out in the sun at the pool. It was a perfect afternoon.
