Simple Valentine’s Day Centerpiece

craftsholidays

I have never been one to go too crazy for Valentine's Day -- I think it makes people who don't have Valentines feel worse than it makes people who do have Valentines feel good. (That made sense in my head, but I'm not sure it translated to the screen. Anyway.)

Make this fun, simple Valentine's Day Centerpiece in minutes.

But I love decorating for it and making fun Valentines for my kids to give out to their classmates. (If I'm being completely honest, it's usually super easy for me to decorate for Valentine's Day, because I pretty much just leave out all of the red decorations that I used for Christmas. Which means less for me to put away after the new year, too! Who knew that laziness could be considered a decorating strategy!?!) And I try to always have fresh flowers in my house, so it just seemed natural that I would create a cute and simple Valentine's Day centerpiece.

It's so, so easy to create.

You just need a large vase, a smaller vase that will fit inside the first vase and is just slightly shorter, conversation heart candies, and flowers!

Start by placing your smaller vase inside your larger vase.

You want to make sure it's centered inside the larger vase.

Then, just fill up the space between the two vases with your conversation hearts. It's easier to do this if you stuff a paper towel inside the smaller vase -- otherwise you'll be fishing hearts out of that vase, and that's just a giant pain in the neck.

Pop your flowers into the inner vase, fill it up with water, and you're done!

In literally about 2 minutes, you have a cute, fun and festive Valentine's Day centerpiece that looks way fancier than it actually is.

Do you usually decorate for Valentine's Day and other holidays like that, or do you save your decorating energy for the big holidays like Christmas?

Hi, I’m Jenn. I’m a freelance writer and editor who lives in central Pennsylvania with my husband and three boys. Yeah. That’s a lot of testosterone in one house. I love decorating, DIYing, crafting, baking, and cooking, and I’m constantly scouring everything I see for inspiration. My ideas can come from anywhere: Pinterest, books, magazines, stores, TV shows, websites, other blogs, other people’s homes, nature. You name it, and I’ve gotten an idea from it. {Literally. I selected the color scheme for our family room from a pocket pack of tissues. Totally not making that up.} I hope to teach others that, if you really pay attention to the world around you, you can get inspiration from anything! I love to hear from readers, so be sure to leave me a comment! Or, if you’d prefer to email me, you can do that too — just visit my contact form. Thanks for stopping by!
