Holiday Celebration: 5 Ways to Celebrate National Coffee Day
Do you know what today is? It's National Coffee Day and we couldn't wait to celebrate with Eight O'Clock Coffee! Drive through any town and you're bound to come across a "mom and pop" or big name coffee shop. Filled with the warm aroma of coffee and the sweet smell of pastries, these coffee shops help fill our bodies full of warmth, our faces full of smiles, and our minds full of memories. People travel to coffee shops to grab a coffee, work for countless hours, or spend time with friends.
5 Ways to Celebrate National Coffee Day
How are you celebrating National Coffee Day? Here are a few ways to celebrate:
1.) Host an In-Home Coffee Break
Everyone needs a small break every once in a while, right? Why not set out mugs, carafes full of coffee, creamer, sugar, and pastries and invite your friends over for a mini coffee break? You will love catching up with your friends, taking a break from your busy schedule, and enjoying a nice cup of coffee with a pastry (or two).
2.) Create a Coffee Center
Instead of filling your counter space with a coffee maker, mugs, and sugar, why not create a small coffee center in your home? You can rent a coffee machine and place it in an open corner of your kitchen. Next, fill your cabinet with mugs, place your coffee maker on the shelf, and fill cute containers with sugar. Don't forget to set out stir sticks and flavored syrup. You will love waking up and making a cup of coffee every morning thanks to your cute and functional coffee center.
3.) Visit Your Local Coffee Shop
What better way to celebrate than to meet up with your friends for a great cup of coffee at your local coffee shop? I love calling or texting a friend and asking he or she to stop by the local coffee shop to meet up, swap stories, drink coffee, enjoy a pastry, and take a few moments out of the day to smile, laugh, and relax. Coffee shops are a gathering place for good food, good times, and good memories ... and I know of six people who couldn't agree more. That's right, I'm talking about Chandler, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, and Ross, as well as their favorite gathering place, the Central Perk. From the beautiful sounds of "Smelly Cat" to Ross and Rachel's first kiss to Rachel bursting through the door of Central Perk in her wedding dress, this gathering place on Friends held so many hilarious and emotional memories.
Can you believe that it has been 20 years since the first episode aired? To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Friends premiere, Eight O’Clock Coffee partnered with Warner Bros. to create the first-ever Central Perk Roast—a limited edition varietal inspired by the beloved coffee shop that served as the backdrop to so many memorable moments on the show. If you're in New York City, then be sure to visit the Central Perk pop-up shop. Located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood at 199 Lafayette Street (at the corner of Broome Street), the Central Perk commemorative pop-up shop will serve free cups of Eight O’ Clock Coffee and feature authentic memorabilia including the iconic orange couch and improv musical acts reminiscent of Phoebe’s "Smelly Cat.” The pop-up shop will be open to the public September 17 – October 18.
4.) Purchase the Limited Edition Central Perk Roast
Friends fans throughout the country can celebrate this milestone and bring Central Perk into their own living rooms by purchasing bags of the limited edition variety at groc ery and mass merchandise stores nationwide and online at EightOClock.com/friends for approximately $6.99. The Limited Edition Eight O’Clock Central Perk Roast is a medium coffee house roast made with carefully selected, high quality, 100% Arabica beans, for which the Eight O’Clock brand is known. Eight O’Clock sources high quality 100% Arabica beans from the world’s best coffee origins and then expertly blends, roasts and packages them at their facility in Landover, Maryland. You can save $3 when one Eight O’Clock Coffee bag (11oz. or larger) and one complete season of Friends on DVD are purchased together. Or, purchase any three bags of Eight O’Clock Coffee and receive a FREE special limited edition Eight O’Clock Coffee Central Perk mug.
Don't forget to "like" Eight O'Clock Coffee on Facebook and follow Eight O'Clock Coffee on Twitter. Also, be sure to follow #8OClockCoffee to join the National Coffee Day celebration!
5.) Pay it Forward
When you're standing in line at your local coffee shop, pay it forward by buying coffee for the person behind you. Not only will you feel great, but you will help brighten that person's day. Don't forget to wish that person a "Happy National Coffee Day!" Or, fill a basket full of coffee, pastries, and a coffee mug. Deliver your basket to a neighbor and wish your neighbor a "Happy National Coffee Day!"
