crafts

Whether you want to add a little sparkle to your own wardrobe, or if you want to cover up the scuffed toes on your daughter's shoes, these sparkle toe shoes are simple to make. They don't take a lot of time or supplies to make, and you can add as much (or as little) sparkle as you like!

Sparkle Toe Shoes DIY

You only need 3 supplies to make these sparkle toe shoes.

  • Shoes
  • Tulip Puffy Paint (in a coordinating color)
  • Rhinestones

Supplies for making a pair of sparkle toe shoes.

The puffy paint is designed to be flexible, and the rhinestones sink right into the paint, which holds them securely when dry. You don't need a fancy rhinestone setter or expensive glues.

Start by painting in a line of puffy paint along the front of the shoe. If your shoe front isn't smooth, you can insert a crumpled paper into the toe to make this easier.

Paint a strip at the toe

Carefully insert the crystals, allowing the puffy paint to squeeze out on all sides so it will be secured. Once you have rhinestones along the front of the shoe, add dots of puffy paint where you want to add more rhinestones.

Add more dots of puffy paint

Place rhinestones on each dot, then add more dots, and more rhinestones, until you have covered as much of the shoe as you like.

Add crystals to cover the toe

Repeat with the other shoe, then allow to dry for 24 hours before wearing.

Canvas shoes are so inexpensive and present a clean palette for adding bling to dress them up. Wouldn't these pair beautifully with a pair of jeans? You can make these in a variety of colors to dress up any casual outfit!

What colors will you use to bling up your plain shoes?
