Thanksgiving Craft: Gourd and Coffee Filter Turkey
This time of year, we always have an abundance of gourds lying around. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to make some gourd and coffee filter turkeys to set on our Thanksgiving table.
For this craft you will need: Gourds that can stand up on their own, four coffee filters, fall colored markers, brown, red and yellow foam, googly eyes, glue, water and a paint brush.
Cut a turkey head shape from the brown foam, a triangle beak from the yellow foam and a "gobble-gobble" from the red foam. Now, you are ready to put the turkey's head together.
Have the kids color each coffee filter with a different colored marker.
When the coloring is done, have the kids paint over the coffee filter with water.
The water makes the marker "bleed" all over the coffee filter. The look is perfect for feathers on a gourd turkey ;-)!
These little guys are going to be festive on our Thanksgiving table. This would be a perfect craft to keep the kiddos entertained on Thanksgiving day while you are busy preparing your feast.
